Patriarchy wouldn't work unless women worked with it by accepting their role of silence and submission, believing they are the reason the world isn't working well. "If only women would...." is an often heard slogan that reenforces the idea that if anything goes wrong, it's the women's fault.
Enter feminism, this radical idea that women are people too. Not property but people. Feminism insists that if something goes wrong it is because men and women don't understand that they are equals, with the same needs and wants. It is precisely by silencing the women that the world creates its problems, and the solution isn't more silence, but allowing women have a say in decision making.
Because feminism sees patriarchy for what it is and doesn't shun from saying it out loud it has become the perfect scapegoat for patriarchy.
A Google search for "Feminism" yielded the following:
Feminism has to be evil, because if feminism is good, patriarchy is bad, patriarchy is bullshit, a hategroup, and (hopefully) dying. You see, patriarchy doesn't thrive because men have an innate need to rule.
Let me re-phrase that.
Patriarchy doesn't thrive because men have a innate need by creation or evolution to rule. What is, is not always right. Men do have an innate need to rule, but it's not a good need; it's a corruption of the original plan and Genesis 3:16 describes this corruption with the words, "And he will rule over you."
Patriarchy causes men to hate women and women to hate themselves. There is nothing natural or normal when a human being feels worthless, worthy of the deprivation of autonomy and decision making. Nor is there is anything natural or normal when a human being sees others as something they can possess, rule, command, use.
If what is, is right, no one should chafe against death, or illness, or the weeds. We should accept all of these as normative, and promote them as much as we possibly can - which is something we unfortunately do more than we should. Instead of promoting sin and brokenness, as Christians we must look towards a new world in which peace and righteousness reigns and work towards the renewal of all things here and now.
If men won't rule women in the New Earth, why should they rule women here?
